Ongoing auctions
All you can do at a running auction
Once the user clicks on an ongoing auction, they are directed to the event page, which shows the event name, end date, and a “register to bid” button. Below this, the page is divided into three main sections:
All lots: This section lists all the machines available in the auction. Each item has two icons: one to save the item for later and another indicating the auction end date for that specific lot. Each machine has an image along with its brand, model, and name, followed by essential details such as:
Manufacturing date
Operational hours
Operating weight
You’ll also see the current bid price and the number of bidders for each machine. To help users refine their search, there are drop-down menus under the "All lots" heading:
Sort: Sort items by lot number (low to high or high to low), starting price (low to high or high to low), or closing time.
Lots: Filter by all lots, open lots, saved lots, or sold lots.
Starting price: Use an adjustable slider to set a range for starting and maximum prices.
Categories: Browse by machinery types such as bulldozers, excavators, compactors, loaders, trucks, and more.
Sub-categories: Filter within the selected category. For example, the excavators category includes mini, medium, large, and long-boom excavators.
Estimated price: Manually input a price range to narrow down items based on estimated cost. To the right of the page, a compare button allows users to compare multiple items, making it easier to evaluate machinery side by side.
When you click on an item, you’ll be directed to a detailed inner page containing all the essential information about the machine. This page features a 360º view along with additional images, as well as key features and technical specifications such as the reference number, working hours, manufacture year, and operating weight.
There’s also a description of the machine to give you a better understanding of its condition and capabilities.
For delivery options, you can select between self-pickup or shipping. To get an accurate shipping cost, you can enter your country and city details.
Additionally, the page provides information on financing and available payment methods. It's important to note that buyers must submit the full payment within 7 days after the auction ends, including any applicable taxes and fees, to avoid late penalties.
Event details: This section provides detailed information about the auction event, including the event’s location, type (timed or live), and other specific data relevant to the auction.
How bidding works: The auction participation guide explains the steps to participate in makana.com auctions. To get started, users need to register by clicking “Register” on the page and completing a simple sign-up process. Once registered, users must make a deposit to activate their account and begin bidding. After the deposit is made, they can browse machinery listings with detailed descriptions, photos, and condition reports. The guide outlines key points, such as reviewing auction terms related to payment and shipping. When ready to bid, users can either place a bid or set a maximum bid for automatic bidding up to a preset amount. Users can track their bidding progress through their user account page and enable notifications to stay updated.
Auctions close at a fixed time, but some may allow late bids that extend the closing time. If the user wins the bid, they will receive detailed payment instructions, with payment options via bank transfer or credit card. Arrangements for collection or shipping can be made after payment.
