What we inspect
Key inspection points each report covers
The inspection process we follow at makana.com covers all major parts of the machine, ensuring a comprehensive assessment of its condition. Our inspection report is divided into key categories, each focusing on specific components to provide a detailed evaluation of the equipment. These categories include:
General (~11 points): Covers key compliance and visual checks like CE markings, serial numbers, and structural condition.
Safety (~7 points): Ensures all critical safety features are functional, including travel alarms, seat belts, and swing brakes.
Control station (~9 points): Assesses the operator’s cabin for comfort and functionality, including seats, joysticks, and instrument panels.
Air conditioner (~5 points): Evaluates the air conditioning system for performance, including checks of the compressor, refrigerant lines, and vents.
Engine (~22 points): A thorough inspection of the engine, including checks for leaks, engine oil pressure, and performance diagnostics.
Drive system (~4 points): Ensures proper operation of the machine's mobility systems, including final drive and travel speed.
Hydraulics (~15 points): Evaluates the hydraulic system's components, like pumps, hoses, and actuators, for leaks, pressure, and performance.
Electrical (~6 points): Inspects the machine’s electrical systems, including lights, wiring, battery, and alternator voltage.
Chassis (~5 points): Checks the structural integrity of critical components like the boom, stick, and pins for cracks or wear.
Undercarriage (~16 points): Inspects components such as track rollers, chains, sprockets, and grouser height for wear and damage.
Attachment (~2 points): Evaluates the condition of any attachments, such as buckets, including teeth and adapters.
Oil analysis (~18 points): A detailed analysis of engine and hydraulic oils to check for wear metals, contamination, and overall condition.
